Turn signal problems and diagnosis can get confusing especially when a system shares wires and connections with the parking warning and braking light systems.

Most common problem sources include bulbs wires connectors fuses flasher units and switches. If you have cornering lights and want them to come on only when your turn signal is on and you do not have a steady output use the following for each side. Some have the tail light wire running through them 4 wire into 3 wire and some don t 3 wire into 2 wire. The power goes through a fuse panel into the thermal flasher.

This will give you a steady output while the turn signal is on. Later the 4 terminal flasher relay was replaced with a somewhat simpler 3 terminal design. A quick and cheap way that works just as good is a tail light wiring converter for trailers. It shows the parts of the circuit as simplified forms and also the power and also signal links in between the devices.
